Gary Byrne is a former secret service officer who was employed during the George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton administrations. In 2016, snippets of his book, “Crisis of Character” were released. The book includes a series of scathing criticisms of Bill and Hillary Clinton including depictions of Bill's affairs, drug use by staff, Hillary's tirades and the couple's epic fights with each other.

Mainstream media has been largely dismissive of the book while conservative media has featured its salacious allegations.
