Chou first became of aware of eSports in 2005 and thought it would be fun to become a professional gamer.

He started following the MLG Circuit in 2006 and tried his hand at becoming a professional Halo player.

While he failed to make it into the scene as a professional, he realized that his strengths lied in communication and public speaking.

While he was attending UCSD, Chou began commentating for the Collegiate Star League, a college-based Starcraft II league, as well as for numerous local LANs and tournaments.

Just before he was about to enter his final quarter as a student, Chou made his first major break into the professional scene as he was offered a full-time position to cast for the North American Star League, a major Starcraft II tournament hosting organization. His popularity grew dramatically within the community and allowed him the opportunity to cast several high-profile and international Starcraft II tournaments.

Switch to Hearthstone

In 2012, Blizzard created the Starcraft II World Championship Series, which made wide changes to the competitive scene.

However, its introduction damaged the ability of independent tournament organizers to maintain viewership in the face of increased content dilution.

According to an interview with ESL, Chou claimed that the changes eventually capped the amount of available work for casters in the scene.

In 2013, Blizzard announced Hearthstone, a free-to-play online collectible card game based on the Warcraft universe.

Chou noted the immense demand for Hearthstone content and opted to switch over from Starcraft II.

In January 2014, he began Fight Night, a series of money matches between major figures in the Hearthstone scene, in conjunction with eSports Global Network (ESGN).

The series ran until mid-2014 when ESGN became defunct, leaving Chou stranded in Germany and nearly broke.

While attempting to maintain his career through freelancing, Chou was contacted by Andrey Yanyuk, the owner of Tempo Storm, about working as his team's manager. Chou took the offer immediately and has since been a major figure on the team.
