Fred Ensinger is a Deputy Sheriff at Bastrop County Sheriff's Office from Longview, Texas who currently lives in Bastrop, Texas. Ensinger received a Master's in Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word. ^[1]

Ensinger is currently running for Bastrop County Presinct 3 Commissioner as a Republican candidate.

He also ran in 2012 but was defeated.

On January 29th, 2016, Ensinger was arrested by his supervisor for D.W.I, he was on duty when he was arrested.

According to dispatchers, Ensinger had slurred speech over the radio;In response, Ensinger's supervisor was dispatched to check up on him.

According to the Officer, Ensinger was found in his car with the motor running alongside an empty bottle of prescription medicine and a bottle of Vodka, he was arrested on the scene.

However, this is not Ensinger's first brush with being under the influence while on duty; In September of 2015, a sergeant smelled alcohol on his breath, which he claimed was residual from the night prior.

Ensinger is currently on paid administrative leave.
