Fin Gomez

Fin Gomez is a White House Producer for CBS News. He has covered three presidential campaign cycles from the campaign trail. In 2016, he was named one of the most influential in news by Mediaite for his work covering the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. Formerly based in Miami for Fox, Fin traveled extensively across Latin America covering various stories including the Narco wars in Mexico, the Venezuelan crisis, and violent crime in Brazilian favelas.[1]

Early Life and Education

Fin Gomez attended Gonzaga College High School where he was the First Hispanic Student Body President and also engaged in writing contest, politics and baseball games. He further his education to obtain a Bachelor degree from Loyola University Maryland. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political science and Government with a minor in Philosophy and Writing.

Career

ABC News

He joined ABC News, Washington, D.C., as an Associate Producer in January 2000. He serve at the station for four years and 10 months before leaving in October 2004.

Fox News Latino

He was at Fox News Latino for 6 years and 7 months.

During those years, he serve as Special Campaign Correspondent at Campaign Trail, USA for about three years before serving as a Writer on Politics at Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area.

Fox News

He also served at Fox News between 2007 and 2017 where he held some key roles within the period. He Covered 7 different presidential campaigns including Mike Huckabee, John McCain & John Edwards as a Campaign reporter between 2007 and 2008. As a Field Reporter between 2009 and 2014, he produced stories and liveshots in many Latin American countries, including conflict zones like Venezuela, Mexican "Narco" towns, as well as a variety of stories from features to hard news in countries like Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Costa Rica, and others.

Fin Gomez joined CBS News, Washington, District of Columbia in September 2018 and currently work as a White House Producer/Journalist. [4]

Fin is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and the first Latino Journalist to serve on the WHCA Board in its 105 year history.

Personal Life

He is an outdoor enthusiast who has competed in CrossFit and powerlifting competitions, and raced in ultra-marathons.
