Fernando Solórzano

Fernando José Solórzano Díaz Granados (Cartagena, Colombia, June 14, 1963) is a Colombian actor. He is also a qualified Social Communicator and Journalist from the Universidad Externado de Colombia.

Career and life

He was born in Cartagena, but grew up and spent all his childhood in Cali and part of his adolescence in Villanueva, La Guajira.

In 1990 he participated in a role as one of the musicians of the orchestra Los diablos del Caribe in the telenovela Música maestro directed by David Stivel.

Then he continued acting in 1995 in the telenovela Magdalena la Rotta Solo una mujer, playing the role of "Nelson Sánchez". He also made sporadic appearances in the comedy by Caracol Televisión entitled Tentaciones.

Before participating in the production of Amores y delitos (1995), Solórzano participated in a film called La mujer del piso alto (1997).

In 1998, Solórzano would jump to fame playing the role of "Bernardo Caparroso" in the television soap opera Perro amor which was directed by Sergio Osorio. [3]

In 1999 he played his first leading role with Flora Martínez in the successful film Soplo de vida.

In 2001 he would act in one of the most successful soap operas on Colombian television: Pedro el escamoso, starring Miguel Varoni and Sandra Reyes. That same year he acted in the films La pena máxima, in which he played "Gutiérrez", and in Bogotá 2016.

In 2003 he participated in the film El carro, playing the role of a used car buyer. The following year he would star alongside Cristina Umaña in the film El Rey directed by Antonio Dorado.

In 2004 Solórzano acted in one of the most successful Colombian series of all time: La Saga, Negocio de Familia, where he was part of a very prominent cast of actors such as Robinson Diaz, Frank Ramírez and Ronald Ayazo, playing the role of "Aquilino Camargo". He would meet again with Robinson Díaz and Diego Cadavid in 2008 in El cartel where he played the role of "Oscar Cadena", the eldest of the Cadena clan and supreme leader of the Pacific drug cartel.

He participated in the 2008 soap opera Vecinos, where he played "Henri Jonás Patarroyo". Other works in the same period include a role in the 2008 comedy film El man.

At the end of 2009, Solórzano played the lead role, portraying the most powerful drug dealer, "Braulio Bermúdez", in Caracol's telenovela Las muñecas de la mafia, based on the book by former drug dealer Andrés López López Las Fantásticas. He then went on to appear in the telenovelas El Secretario and Los canarios.

In April 2011 he starred in the theatre production Hombre con hombre, mujer con mujer, with the actress Marcela Carvajal, directed by the Polish master Pawel Nawichi and written by Dago García. In it, he embodied Gonzalo, a quiet, understanding and measured man who is married to Marcela, a distrustful woman who uses her studies in psychology to make her husband confess alleged infidelities.
