April is a dancer ( whose real name Sofia Carson) who, after failing to find success on Broadway, returns to her small hometown and reluctantly is recruited to train a misfit group of young dancers for a big competition.^[5]

The principal photography began July 25 in Toronto, Canada.

The Executive producers are Aaron Barnett, Brent Emery, and Suzanne Farwell. The producer (p.g.a.) is Susan Cartsonis and the associate producer s are Clément Bauer and Sabina Olivia Lambert.^[4]

The choreographer is Emmy Award winner Mia Michaels, whose credits include “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Rock of Ages.” Music by Michael Yezerski. Cinematography by Amir Mokri, Casting By Barbara J. McCarthy, Production Design by Kevin Bird, and Costume Design by Shelley Mansell.^[6]
