Fahmi Quadir is an American hedge fund manager based in New York City. She is the founder of Saftkhet Capital Management. Fahmi was chosen to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2018 in the Finance category. [1]
Education
Fahmi was born and raised in New York City. She attended Harvey Mudd College where she participated in many organizations including Claremont Peace & Justice, Mudders Making a Difference, Association for Women in Mathematics, Association for the Advancement of Science, and Concert Choir. She graduated in 2012 with degrees in Mathematics and Biology.
Career
During high school and college, Fahmi was a New York Academy of Sciences Fellow at the Maimonides Medical Center, James Simons Fellow at the Stony Brook University Medical Center, a Researcher at Harvey Mudd College, and Strauss Research Fellow at ICDDR,B. Upon graduating, she joined Deallus Consulting as an Analyst and worked her way up to Senior Associate. In 2015, she became an Equity Analyst at Krensavage Asset Management where she played a pivotal role among investors successfully shorting Valeant Pharmaceuticals. She appeared on Season 1 Episode 3 of Dirty Money documenting her short position. Fahmi founded Safkhet Capital in July of 2017, a short-only fund focused on fraud identification and deep forensic research.
Personal Interests
In her free time, Fahmi enjoys opera, cracking codes at the Museum of Math, and being on boat shucking oysters and sipping champagne.
