Plot summary
Set in the Ming Dynasty era, the story revolves around a brothel and the girls who work there.
The film begins by following the life of a girl from a poor family who is sold by her mother to the brothel.
She is the most beautiful of the girls and attracts many clients, some of whom are allowed to torture her with the permission of the brothel owners.
The girl hopes to escape her sordid existence one day.
Through a tale told by one of the other prostitutes to her client, the story moves to a crown prince who is obsessed with sex.

Production and release
Facets of Love was shot on 35mm Eastmancolor film with a mono audio soundtrack featuring Mandarin-language dialogue. The Shawscope cinematographic process was used in production and the film's total runtime is 94 minutes. Facets of Love premiered on 5 April 1973 in Hong Kong.[2]
