Everett Glenn Miller (born October 5, 1971) is a 45-year-old from Florida.
Biographical Information
Miller is originally from Kissimmee, FL but has lived in Tampa and most recently Orlando. He is a marine veteran and was placed under the Baker Act by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office due to mental health issues not too long ago. [2]Friends were growing concern about Miller's Facebook posts and hygiene. After changing his name to Malik Mohammad Ali in July of 2017, he started sharing content about slavery and race issues. [3]
Shooting of Police Officers
On the evening of August 18th, Officer Matthew Baxter responded to a call at Palmway and Cypress streets, an area known for drug activity. He encountered three people, including Miller, and a scuffle ensued. Officer Sam Howard came as backup. Both Howard and Baxter were shot by Miller. Baxter was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Howard is in serious condition. [6]
Miller was found armed with two gun's at Roscoe's bar at around 11:30 pm.
He was arrested and charged with premeditated first-degree murder.
