Coronavirus Outbreak
In April 2020, during Covid pandemic, Taft anticipated the climate from home, utilizing her TV to show illustrations and guides.
"Never ever did I at any point figure I could tackle my work from home," said Taft, who has been at the station for a very long time.
Notwithstanding the TV in the room, she has a screen packed with illustrations and maps.[32] She added:
“There is a silver lining to this — I get to be with my kids all day.
But it’s hard.
My kids are 4 and 6, and it looks like they’re going to be out of school for the rest of the school year.
So it’s blurring the line between being a mom and meteorologist and on-air talent.”
Her reports have now become a family affair:
“I first go on air at 8, and my kids want to be part of it.
I don’t put them on camera — I put them on the couch.
They know they have to be quiet, but that doesn’t always work out.
My daughter usually falls asleep on the couch.”[32]
