Early Life
Eugenia was born in Massachusetts, raised in Connecticut, and now is based in New York City. [1] She grew up in Connecticut with her parents and younger brother Chip. She studied acting in New York City and was the 2012 winner of The New Face of Big Drop NYC national contest.[1]
Career
Eugenia gained her YouTube audience as a regular on YouNow, a live broadcasting site. She also gained notoriety for a twerking video that was shown on WorldstarHipHop.[1] She is most popular for her YouTube channel, where as of July 2019 she has 1.5M subscribers.[30] Her channel consists of beauty videos, Haul's, and Q&A's. They generally get as almost as many likes as they do dislikes, and her comment section is always flooded with negative comments around her thin physique. Eugenia is also popular on Instagram, where she currently has 880,000 followers.
Petition to Temporarily Ban Cooney from YouTube
A petition has appeared on Change.org to temporarily suspend Cooney's YouTube account over her Anorexic condition. The purpose of the petition is to help Cooney find treatment. In addition, the petition aims to prevent her from influencing her viewing audience who typically range from being 15-21, the peak age for the disorder to develop. [2]
Her mom has also come out and said that Cooney refuses to eat.
Eugenia's Response
Eugenia posted a video addressing people's concerns about her.
In it she says that she has done nothing wrong and that she never encouraged or told anyone to look like her.

After a social media break, Eugenia returned to Youtube on Shane Dawson's channel in a video posted on July 19, 2019. Shane posted a video featuring Eugenia where they candidly spoke of her Anorexia and her journey to recovery. This video was the first time that Eugenia ever admitted to having an eating disorder and she spoke honestly about her struggles with food. Eugenia is now determined to educate her viewers on her condition and to help those that may also be struggling with an eating disorder.[32]
