Erika and Armin have been a couple since 2000 and eventually married on September 18, 2009. They live in Leiderdorp in the Western Netherlands. They have a son, Remy van Buuren, and a daughter, Fenna van Buuren. [6]
Armin proposed to her after playing at the Royal Opera House in Sydney, Australia by dropping a large banner from a boat that read "Will you marry me?" Erika has shared that she believes the stability that comes with fatherhood has increased the quality of Buuren's music:
"He’s producing for tracks and using his time more wisely.
He is just another member of the family, spending time with the kids, taking out the trash and going to the shops to buy groceries."
Armin has shared that their relationship is founded on communication. He said:
"the key to any successful relationship is communication, especially if you are living together"
The two have date night dinners at least once or twice a week to keep things intimate and fresh.
