On October 22, 2016, Hurt was found passed out from an overdose of heroin with her baby in the back seat of the car in the parking lot of a Dollar General in Hope, Indiana.

Hurt was revived with Narcan and taken to the hospital, where she was arrested on charges of Child neglect and possession of Drug paraphernalia.
