Emily Elizabeth Heller (b. October 5, 1985) is a comedian, actress, and screenwriter.
Early Life & Education
Emily Heller grew up in Alameda, California, just east of San Francisco. Her mom is an art teacher and her dad is a chiropractor. She grew up with two siblings: a sister (a filmmaker) and a brother (a musician).
She went to the University of California, Santa Cruz after high school. She was interested in attending the school after camping at Camp Winnarainbow, a famous circus and performing arts camp in Northern California founded by the legendary political activist/clown Wavy Gravy.
She graduated in 2007 with a degree in History of Art & Visual Culture.
Career
Emily appears on the New Faces set for the Just for Laughs festival (2013)
Emily Heller began her career in San Francisco, where she pursued a career in stand-up comedy.
In addition, she worked for a comedy website, which gave her the chance to watch other comedians perform.
She was eventually named of the "7 Funniest People in Town" by 7x7 Magazine in 2011.
After three years of living in the Bay Area, she moved to New York City.
In 2013, she appeared on the New Faces set for the Just for Laughs festival.
The gig helped her develop a bigger reputation in the comedy industry.
She eventually performed warm-up for Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell and appeared on several comedy shows. These include Conan , Late Night with Seth Meyers , Chelsea Lately , and the third season of John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show.
In 2014, Heller relocated to Los Angeles.
There she wrote for the sitcom Surviving Jack . She also landed an acting role on the second season of the comedy series Ground Floor.
In 2015, Heller signed to Kill Rock Stars and released her first comedy album, Good for Her.

She currently co-hosts a podcast called Baby Geniuses.
