Elyse Williams (ELYSE)

Elyse Williams (ELYSE)

Megan Elyse Beitner-Williams (ELYSE) (born 21/10/2000) is an American Singer-songwriter, actress, and dancer based in Simi Valley, California. [1]

Williams goes by the stage name “ELYSE”, which she decided to brand herself as while working with her music producer, Andrew Lane, during the recording of her first single, “Well Played.”

Birth of “ELYSE”

As they were finishing the production of the first single for release in the studio, one day a discussion occurred on how she wanted to present herself name wise to the entertainment/music industry.

She felt Megan Beitner-Williams was too long of a name and her producer suggested “Elyse” as her stage name.

Since Elyse is her middle name, shorter than trying to say Megan Elyse Beitner-Williams and easier to remember, she decided to keep her middle name as her stage name.

Life and Career

ELYSE was born and raised in West Hills, Los Angeles.

As a child Williams loved to sing...she would constantly sing in the home.

As she entered elementary school students, teachers, and parents would comment, compliment, and ask her mother about her voice.

During this time people would ask and suggest Elyse try out for American Idol and that she has a beautiful voice.

Too young to audition, she started taking voice lessons and continued to emerge herself in music. In elementary school, she noticed her best friend bowing her head before she ate her lunch. Williams asked her what she was doing and her friend told her she was praying to God to thank him for the meal she was about to eat. Williams had not heard about God to that point in her life and that discussion started a relationship and journey with Jesus Christ as the central focus of her life and who she is today.

By age seven, she had started formal vocal lessons from vocal teacher, Dawn Walters and performed in her first school play while attending Madera elementary school in Simi Valley California. When she stepped on stage and looked at the audience while performing in the role of Snow White she knew she wanted to pursue singing/acting as a career.

This devotion continued through elementary and middle school and by age thirteen, ELYSE was performing at local talent shows, vocal competitions, and local fairs in her attempts at developing her sound.

While attending Thousand Oaks High School, Williams started gaining local notoriety as a vocalist. She sang in the high school choir, enrolled in the school dance program, and started singing in main celebration room in her church. She started acting in theatrical productions in the local community through her church’s Spotlight program where she performed in the productions of Willy Wonka Junior, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Seussical, and Mary Poppins where she played Mary Poppins.

She continued singing in the Los Angeles region during open mic sessions, vocal competitions, and singing gigs,

The year was highlighted by Williams being selected from a worldwide pool of 18,000 applicants to attend and sing at Carnegie Hall’s Honors Performance in New York City.

“Courage: To Live Without Fear”

Prevalent throughout Williams’ music and branding, is her life mantra Courage To Live Without Fear.” She has a key with the word COURAGE on it that she wears as a reminder to have strength in the face of fear.

In her senior year of high school, Williams went to church camp.

On the last day of camp, she came into the chapel and on her seat was a necklace with a key on it with the word COURAGE engraved in it.

She thought what a great reminder to live everyday having the courage to not live in fear.

The actual definition of courage is “strength in the face of pain or grief”. There are times when she starts to doubt something, or struggle with issues and in those moments, she will grab onto the key, pray, and find the courage and strength to work through those moments in her life. Williams wears this key everywhere she goes.

William's greatest passion is her music.

She is often seen singing with her church's worship team.

God is a strong part of Elyse’s life and she started singing Christian music at her home church (Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village, California) for the kids in the middle school ministry and continues singing today in the main celebration room for adult services. She believes her gift from god is her voice and music and she feels close to God when she is singing in church.

Drew Right Music

In 2017, Hollywood music producer, Andrew Lane, discovered Williams during Simi Valley’s annual city vocal competition. Elyse won the competition and he quickly realized she has the voice, writing ability, and performance skills to become a career performing artist.

Lane, known throughout Hollywood for his work with R&B artists Speech, Keith Sweat, and Alsou, has also worked on the platinum-accredited records High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Disneymania 4, and Mannie Fresh.

Since discovering Williams, Lane has been working with her, helping to produce her first single, “Well Played,” which was released in March 2018.

This was soon followed by the release of “Girls Talk Too Much,” “Lips Like Poison,” and a variety of cover songs.

In September 2018, Williams recorded backup vocals for Paula Abdul’s 2018 Tour, “Straight Up Paula!”

She is currently working on her first EP called, “Well Played,” which is due out for release before the end of 2019.

Make It Happen

In 2019, Williams, in addition to her representation by Drew Right Music, also signed with Hollywood brand/reputation management company, Make It Happen, which helps curate good, quality content that is synonymous with the ELYSE brand, ensuring at all times digital hygiene is of utmost importance and that the music she is producing with Lane continues to promote her name, image, and likeness in the most positive light.
