Eleni Giokos is CNNMoney Africa correspondent based in Johannesburg. She reported from key global events such as the World Economic Forum in Davos and the United Nations General Assembly, and chaired debates at Davos, WEF Africa, the International Monetary Fund, African Finance Corporation and the Africa CEO Forum.
Career

Giokos began her career at CNBC Africa in 2005. She then became an anchor and correspondent at 24-hour news channel eNCA, covering business stories and breaking news, including the killing of Reeva Stenkamp by Oscar Pistorius and the Westgate shopping mall attack.
As a broadcaster she has interviewed heads of state and business leaders like South African President Jacob Zuma, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.
In September 2020, Giokos moderated the discussion on German-African business relations with Chancellor Merkel’s Africa Envoy.
Co-moderated by the Germany Africa Business Forum and spearheaded by H.E Günter Nooke, Africa Envoy to Chancellor Merkel, the discussion also includes NJ Ayuk, Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, and René Awambeng of the African Export–Import Bank. The webinar was held on September 23.[14]
Education
Giokos has a degree in Journalism and Media studies from the University of Witwatersrand, and is an International Monetary Fund Fellow.
