Editional is a blockchain based social platform that lets users create, claim, and trade unique digital collectibles online.

Editional was founded in 2019 by three ex-Facebook employees: CEO John Egan was product manager and developed Workplace by Facebook, CTO Cole Potrocky is a former senior tools and infrastructure engineer at Facebook, and Zac Morris was part of the core security team at Facebook. [2] [4]

Editional allows any digital image to be transformed into a set of digital collectibles on the blockchain. Co-founder and CEO John Egan said: [3]

Editional lets you create new collectibles as easily as you create any other kind of content: with your phone’s camera or photo album. The twist is that, since these are ownable items, you get to set how many editions of your collectible will be made available to other Editional users. The default is 5, but it can be as many as 99 or as few as 2.

The app became available in the Apple Store on April 30th 2019.

Editonal took home $1.5 million in seed funding from heavyweight investors, including ConsenSys Ventures, Digital Currency Group, and CoinFund. [3]
