Ed Russell McIver Jr. is a 20 year old suspected criminal from Weatherford, Texas.
On March 15, 2016 cops on the U.S.
Marshals fugitive task force were trying to make a traffic stop on Interstate 30 and Hulen St. to serve a felony warrant on Ed McIver, 42, Ed McIver Jr.'s father.
The two men fled.
McIver Jr. and his father bailed from the car on foot on Longvue Ave. before exchanging gunfire with several officers in nearby woods, sending one officer to the hospital and leaving McIver Jr.'s father dead.
McIver Jr. was later arrested and in police custody.
The officer injured is expected to recover from his injuries.
