Ed Daniels

Ed Daniels is chairman of Shell UK and executive vice president of downstream technology for Royal Dutch Shell.

As EVP, Daniels is responsible for technology support to Shell's downstream assets and products as well as a range of commercial activities.

Since joining Shell in 1988, he has held numerous positions, including president of Shell's catalyst businesses CRI/Criterion Inc. in the U.S., general manager of Global Base Oil Lubricants in the U.K. and manager of Asia Pacific sales and marketing projects in Singapore.

In 2011, Daniels was elected technical vice president of the Council of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

He attained chartered engineer status in 2010 and was elected an IChemE fellow the same year.

Daniels is a member of the Confederation of British Industry President's Committee and the CBI Energy and Climate Change Board.

He has a master's degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College London and an M.B.A. from Henley Business School.
