Doug Schadewald (born August 17th, 1989) is an American Equity Index Volatility Trader for Barclays. He is based in New York City. Doug was selceted to be in Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2018 for the category of Finance.
Early Life and Education
Doug grew up in Port Washington, Wisconsin and attended University School for high school. A standout athlete, Dog earned three varsity letters in football and basketball while earning four in track, captained football and basketball team senior year, was a two-time All-Conference honorable mention selection quarterback, was named to the first team all-conference in basketball while also winning team MVP, and won the Henry Uihlein Award for being the school's best male athlete.
Academically, Doug was National Merit Finalist, was member of Cum Laude Society, and was Captain of the math team where he won the individual state competition with a perfect score. He graduated in 2007.
Doug went to Harvard. where he was a Member of the Heavyweight Crew Team, Head Trader of Charles River Growth Fund, President of the Owl Club, and member of the Harvard College Business Club. He graduated in 2011 with a degree in Applied Mathematics with Economics.
Career
Doug is an Equity Index Volatility Trader and Vice President at Barclays.
He runs Barclays' S&P 500 and VIX derivatives portfolio, one of the biggest options books on Wall Street, which trades billions of dollars in notional value daily. In addition, he is a member of the Chicago Futures Exchange's advisory committee.
