Dladla Mshunqisi (born Anele Dladla; 30 November 1990 in KwaMashu) is a South African dance music vocalist. He is known to many for his collaboration with Distruction Boyz with Benny Maverick to release the hit jam Omunye. He has also gained followers on social media and fans for his passion for cooking.[1]
Age
Dladla Mshunqisi’s date of birth is on the 30th of November 1990 and the place of birth is in KwaMashu. He is 29 years old and celebrates his birthday yearly on November 30th.
Dladla is currently living in Durban North and his love for cooking is at an early age.[2]
Family
The name of his father is Sese Dladla, a respected man in KwaZulu-Natal. He is one of the first and prominent taxi owners.
Before Fame
During his days as a student at Northwood, his teachers were attracted to his bubbly nature and they would invite for his parties.
He was able to invite some of the best Deejays in Mzansi to host his parties.
People who attended his parties testified that his parties were the best.
This earned him the nickname ‘Mshunqisi’ which translates to a person who brings life to the party.
He also entertained his friends through jokes and a day came as he did his regular stand up comedy sessions. He was recorded by a guest and posted the video online.
Album
He dropped his debut album titled Umshunqo on 5 October 2018. The album received a public reaction over the 13 songs.
The songs in his debut album was were produced under the label Afrotainment.
The songs featured in the album include: Thutha, Isandla, Amalukuluku, Ini Yona, Ibus Lamalume, Wangibamba, Izibalo, Sesfikile, Pakisha, Cothoza, Ukhona, Usuku, Izigi.
Career
He walked into the spotlight after featuring on Benny Maverick’s single Memeza.
His career could be traced back to the days he set dance floors alight.
He also has been shouting his gimmicks since 2009 to entertain people and for fun.
Dladla also was featured on Spirit Banger’s Washa Mlilo and Distruction Boyz’s Omunye.
He appeared in both dance floor fillers.
The talented artist is not only good in the music but also amazing in the kitchen too.
Cooking
When he was 16 years old, Dladla began to work for ServePro, a hospitality and events management company in Durban North.
His exceptional talent, passion, and hard work took him to the position of the head cook of the company.
In 2011, he established an Amathiba Catering and Enterprise, his food company, after he finished school.
According to him, “he loves cooking pasta and curry dishes”.
He hopes that a day will come when he’d have a restaurant where people can come and enjoy his food.
He will also entertain them by the gimmicks which made him popular.
