DJ Christos (born Christos Katsaitis) is a South African Deejay and also among the most respected house producer s. The disc jockey popularly addressed as “The Godfather of House”.[1]

The legendary DJ is a household video and has received credits on laying the foundation for the South African dance scene still flourishing platform.

Real Name

The legendary South African disc jockey and house producer DJ Christos “The Godfather of House” was born with the real name Christos Katsaitis. [2]

Career

DJ Christos is one of South Africa's longest-spinning and certainly very influential house producer/DJs, having performed at the most seminal clubs in and around the Gauteng area, including Fourth World, Caesar's Palace, and Arena -- constantly crossing racial borders in those segregated times.

DJ Christos started spinning records when he was thirteen years old. Katsaitis Music is among the top Deejaying agencies in South Africa.

It is known to boast several popular Artists and Disk Jockeys including Monique Bingham, Vinny Da Vinci, and Ralf GUM.

Others include Franck Roger, Lars Behrenroth, Kanunu, Ree Morris, Dj Zero and Rocco.

In 2004, he founded the South African music conference. DJ Christos also worked on the Boom Shaka song titled Free. [3]

Record Label

He is a co-founder of the Kalawa label and his label Katsaitis Music.

Through these record labels, he has released some of South Africa’s most renowned artists like Boom Shaka, Lebo Mathosa, Shana, Daw, and Black Coffee .[4]

Wife

He is married to Tebogo and together they run a family restaurant in Midrand called Shaguma Café Restaurant. He is a father of three children, Taki, CJ, and Michail.

Theft Incident

Well like several renowned artists in South Africa, he was a victim of theft. In 2009 during his presentation for Channel O’s New Year’s Eve gig at Esibayeni Lodge in Swaziland, he was robbed.

Those involved broke into his hotel room and went away with his phone and laptop which contained his works.
