DJ Ankletap A.K.A Malume (malume means Uncle in Zulu language and in Sotho language) was born Bryce Clarke in Caltonville[0]and moved to Potchefstroom, North West Province, South Africa in 1997.[0]
The Name DJ Ankletap is a nickname he earned at high school, he was born with Club Feet and have had many operations over the years on his feet, so at school whenever he played sport the other kids used to joke that they would “Ankle Tap” him.[0]
He found his passion for entertainment at the age of 17 when he started DJ’ing at high school events.
Before being dubbed one of the best radio DJ’s in SA, Bryce used to be a stadium announcer in his hometown of Potchefstroom [4]
While studying Psychology and Communication at the University of Johannesburg, DJ Ankletap joined UJFM, starting as a DJ on the graveyard slot before moving onto midday, then finally, the breakfast show.[2]
He is the first white person to single-handedly man a prime time slot at what is generally known as Gauteng’s leading urban black youth radio station[3]
Personal Life
He went to primary and high school in Potchefstroom.
He is the youngest of 3 kids and matriculated in 2006[3].
He is a white South African but can speak a bit of other South African languages, Tswana being his most fluent African language.
