Dineo Moeketsi
Dineo Langa (nee Moeketsi) is a TV presenter and actress, known for Mzanzi Magic’s The Queen, Mrs Right Guy (2016), Our Girl (2014) and O Access (2007).
Career
Dineo has appeared in a whole lot of theatre productions including Grease, The Fifth Floor and 66676, and starred in the role of Lindiwe in the 10th season of the SABC1 youth drama series Soul City, in 2010. She also played a cameo role in the SABC1 sitcom City Ses'la.
In 2010 she was a presenter at the seventh annual Channel O Music Video Awards and in 2011 she made her film debut in the Thapelo Mokoena-produced feature Skyf. She has also sung backing vocals for the band Flash Republic and was one of the Top 14 contestants on the M-Net reality competition High School Musical: Spotlight South Africa, in 2008.
In 2011 she co-hosted the Channel O Music Video Awards, with Banky W. The following year she was a Red Carpet Reporter in the build-up show to the 9th Annual Channel O MVAs. She had a guest starring role in Episode 6 of the SABC1 Science fiction sEries Room 9, in 2012.
In 2014, she appeared as herself in the Vuzu satirical mockumentary, Check Coast.
In mid 2014 Dineo was a guest on the third season of e.tv’s talk show ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall. At the end of the year she co-hosted Mzansi Magic’s reality series, My Perfect Proposal. [17]
In April 2015 Dineo began co-hosting e.tv’s talk show, Ekse Zwakala, October saw e.tv announce via their website that Dineo was joining the channel’s soap opera, Scandal!, where she portrayed the character of Naledi Thebe. [17]
In 2016 Dineo began playing the part of Kea in Mzanzi Magic’s The Queen whilst continuing to lend her talent to MC and voice over work.[17]
She is currently represented by KDT Communications and Owen S Management.[17]
In April 2020, Moeketsi was fired from The Queen, allegedly after asking for a three-month break to shoot a movie.
The actress, who has been with the Mzansi Magic soapie since its inception in 2016, was allegedly sent a letter by Ferguson Films informing her that she should not bother to report for duty after the lockdown.[18]
Education
Moeketsi is the National School of the Arts graduate.[17]
Personal Life
Dineo is mutilingual, speaking English, Zulu, Tswana, Sotho, and Xhosa." [1]
She’s an official Reading ambassador for National Book week, which is an initiative developed by the South African Book Development Council and The Department of Arts & Culture, to promote reading in South Africa.
In May 2019, Moeketsi and rapper Zothile "Solo" Langa tied the knot in an all-star garden-themed matrimonial affair after dating for 7 years.
Among the attendees was radio personality Thando Thabethe, The Queen actress Rami Chuene and Moshe Ndiki.[19]
The couple had their white wedding in September 2019.
