Shooting

In May 2017, Maestas' SUV was pulled over in Douglas County, CO when deputy Brad Proulx stopped to help him. Maestas got out of his car with an unloaded rifle and deputy Proulx shot him. There is bodycam footage of Maestas apologizing after being shot. [3]
