He began body building at the age of 19 when his friend expressed how small and sickly looking he was, at a hearty 115 lbs average throughout high school.

In his schooling years, his size became a bit of a problem.

He earned a full ride to San Jose State University for cross country but decided he'd rather pursue bodybuilding as his true passion.
