Deeper (studio)
Deeper is an American online content production company targeting the film and porn markets specializing in BDSM-themed sex scenes. It was launched in April 2019 following Greg Lansky's purchase of actress and director Kayden Kross' company, leaving her as CEO and principal director and executive of the new studio, as well as occasional actress, anchored under the prism of the Vixen Group,[1] being its fourth label after Blacked.com, Tushy and Vixen.
Company History
In early April 2019, it was confirmed that Vixen Group was expanding its conglomerate by launching the Deeper site, after buying the rights to Trenchcoatx.com, a company owned by award-winning porn actress and director Kayden Kross, who would work at the new studio as the main CEO and executive at the helm of major film distribution. "It will not be a formulaic or uniform site. It will constantly push boundaries and I hope that in doing so it will help viewers discover more about themselves. I want it to be what good sex should be: intoxicating and unpredictable," Kross said in an interview. The distribution side of the films was handled by Pulse Distribution.[2]
Greg Lansky, for his part, said he was "extremely proud to support Kayden's artistic vision," leaving her license to reshape the projects as she sees fit, praising "her incredible talent has made her one of the most popular directors in the Sex industry. Kayden is committed, genuine and has a vision with an inspiring attention to detail and style in total resonance with Vixen Media Group's values. "[3] The same thought was summed up by Alexandra Taylor, group marketing director, in praising Deeper's mission: "We want our audience to be inspired to embrace needs for satisfaction that go beyond the physical and, through Deeper, I feel we have really achieved that," she said.
Along with Kayden Kross, other actresses who in addition to participating have directed scenes and films have included Joanna Angel,[4] Adria Rae or Stoya.[5]
In October 2019, it was confirmed that the studio managed to sign an exclusive contract with actress Maitland Ward, who that same year had decided to park her conventional career to enter the porn industry.
Remembered for her supporting role in the 1990s series Me and the World, where she played the role of Rachel Kimberly McGuire, she had begun to publish amateur videos on various specialized sites, signing at the end of 2018 for the representation company Society 15, then under the command of Kendra Lust, with which she got her first roles for scenes in Brazzers and Blacked. It was precisely her time with Blacked that brought her into contact with Kayden Kross and new projects, going on to shoot exclusively with Deeper, an action that catapulted her to fame in just a few months, debuting as a porn actress at the age of 42.
One of Ward's first roles for Deeper was in the film Drive, where she shared scenes alongside Angela White, Manuel Ferrara, Ivy Lebelle or Mick Blue, being one of the main productions nominated at the 2020 AVN and XBIZ Awards, both with 10 nominations.
