CBS Miami visited Dedrick Williams' home in an attempt to reach him for comment after his arrest. They found his home was a rental bungalow in a modest neighbourhood of Pompano Beach. They also stated the Debris littered the yard in front and back along with the aftermath of some automotive work, with a tarp, oil and tools. They were not able to reach him or anyone who lived at the home for comment.
Neighbors, many of whom did not want to be quoted, said they knew Williams as a tattoo artist. They complained of noise from his riding of all-terrain vehicles but said they didn’t otherwise have any trouble with the family that lived at the home.
Richard Slappy, 58, an electrician who lives a few houses down and across the street, said a woman and children also lived there. “I’ve seen him riding them 4-wheelers,” Slappy said. “I was glad I didn’t stay next to him because there was all that 4-wheeler noise going on down there.”

On the night of Wednesday, June 20, 2018 Dedrick Williams was taken into custody by deputies with the Broward County Sheriff's Office (BSO) in Pompano Beach. He’s been charged with first degree murder in the death of the rapper, XXXTentacion.
On Monday, June 18, 2018, XXXTentacion was shot and killed just after he left Riva Motorsports a motorsports dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. BSO officials said he was ambushed by two suspects as he left in his BMW i8. He was shot and killed in the front seat.
XXXTentacion's attorney, David Bogenschutz, said investigators told him the rapper had visited a bank shortly before the shooting and possibly withdrew cash to buy a motorcycle at the dealership. Witnesses say the suspects stole a Louis Vuitton bag and fled in a dark SUV.
After Williams’ arrest, Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said homicide detectives also were seeking additional suspects.
An arrest report said Williams was alone in the silver 2004 Honda and driving without a license when he was spotted by an officer in Pompano Beach.
He was taken into custody on an active felony warrant.
“In just more than 48 hours, Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives arrested Dedrick Devonshay Williams of Pompano Beach, for the murder of Jahseh Onfroy, also known as XXXTentacion,” the Broward Sheriff’s Office announced shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Williams is also charged with probation violation for a previous grand theft charge and driving without a valid license, records show. He is being held without bail.
Williams appeared before Broward County Judge Kim Theresa Mollica via video on the afternoon of Thursday, June 21, 2018.
He wore an orange jumpsuit and did not speak during the minutes-long hearing and he was represented by a public defender.
Mollica ordered Williams to be held without bond. Williams also was scheduled to appear Monday before a different judge regarding the probation violation charge that stems from a 2014 grand theft auto case.
Criminal History
In February 2014, he was arrested for grand theft auto in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He admitted buying a stolen vehicle for $80, police said. He was on probation for that crime at the time of XXXTentacion’s death.
Williams was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and battery in a domestic violence case in May 2014, but the Florida state attorney’s office declined to prosecute, court records show. In December 2016, he was arrested in Coconut Creek, Florida on suspicion of possessing a firearm, but he was not prosecuted that time either.
In November 2017, Williams was arrested on charges of cocaine possession and possessing a weapon while being a convicted felon. Online court records do not indicate the status of that case.
