Deborah Danner was a 66 year old resident of Bronx, New York with a history of schizophrenia and mental illness.

Police were called to her apartment on a regular basis.

In October 2016, officer Hugh Barry responded to her apartment after a neighbor reporter her engaging in threatening behavior.

According to police she was armed with scissors.

Officer Barry reportedy talked her into dropping the scissors but she then came at him with a baseball bat.

He fired two shots, killing her.

Some people have questioned the shooting of an elderly, naked woman with a history of mental issues including Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner O'Neill.
