Dean Takahashi is an American Writer in the Tech and Gaming world for nearly 30 years. Recently, he has been a major contributor and lead writer for GamesBeat, which is part of the venture capital blog called, Venture Beat. He has also written for the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Mercury News, and many others.
Biography
Takahashi lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area, a place he has lived for many years. He has also lived in Southern California where he has also worked as a writer. He has since travel to many places around the United States for conferences pertaining to the gaming industry.

After high school, Takahashi enrolled at University of California, Berkeley where he studied and graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in English.
After UC Berkeley, he completed a one-year program at Northwestern University where he received his MSJ in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism.

From 1996-2000, Takahashi was a staff writer in the San Francisco bureau of the Wall Street Journal for 3.5 years where he covered chip companies and video games.

After writing for the Red Herring, he became the technology columnist and video game industry writer for Mercury News in Silicon Valley. He was there for six years.
