Early Years:
Dawn Davenport was born in Piano, Texas and then grew up in Atlanta, Geogia She continued her education as she attended Auburn University and graduated with a degree in Mass Communication, Tv film, and Radio. Dawn graduated in December 2002. At Auburn, she played volleyball and was a 2 time SEC Academic All-American. [1]
Broadcasting Career:
Dawn Davenport started her career at WWAY-ABC Wilmington, N.C., and then at WRIC-ABC in Richmond, Virginia.
In 2008, Dawn became a sports reporter for WRKN in Nashville.
Dawn's debut as an ESPN anchor was in 2013 when she had the opportunity to work the Auburn vs Washington State game on August 31st.
It also happened to be her first Auburn football game in 10 years.
Her forte with ESPN was being the sideline reporter for ESPNU's primetime college football Saturday games.
Awards and Honors:
Dawn Davenport won the best sportscaster award in Tennessee in 2011 and 2013 as she was making her switch to work for ESPN.
