Davis Nolan is a Weather journalist. He is one of the few broadcast meteorologists in the nation to earn the “Certified Consulting Meteorologist” designation from the Meteorological Society of the United States.
Personal life
Davis Nolan was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attends Florida State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. Before that, he has attained a degree in Earth science from Tulane University.
Career
Davis Nolan began his TV reporting career when he was still in school as the weekend weathercaster at WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida. He later served as a weather anchor at WTVT in Tampa, Florida.
Davis Nolan has been forecasting weather in Middle Tennessee for over 30 years. Davis is one of the certified consulting meteorologists from the American Meteorological Society.
This certification has enabled him to be writing a “technical paper,” completing a written exam, and then an oral exam administered by AMS Board of Consulting Meteorologists.[1]
Although he has held the AMS’s Broadcast Seal of Approval since 1979 since it was upgraded. Davis also has held the National Weather Association’s seal of approval. He takes great pride in giving accurate weather forecasts, especially during severe weather when there are storms on many occasions. [2]
Davis has much love for music, fishing, and sailing.
He has become quite known for the love fishing and always seen on the water on his days off.
He is very active in the Middle Tennessee community.
Davis has recorded several successes in reporting happenings across the city of Florida.
