David Siders is an American journalist based in Los Angeles, California. He is a senior reporter for POLITICO and co-writer of the California Playbook.
Education
Siders graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor's degree in journalism. He went on to attend the University of Westminster, receiving an M.A. in journalism.
Career
He previously was a senior writer for The Sacramento Bee, covering California state politics and Governor Jerry Brown. During his time at The Bee, Siders focused on elections, the state budget and the politics of climate change.
He reported on the 2010 and 2014 gubernatorial campaigns and on presidential campaigns in California and Nevada.
He covered Brown’s climate change initiatives from across the state and from France, Italy, Mexico and China.
