David Powlison is a united state of American Writer, Professor, and Biblical Counselor. He has worked at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation since 1978 and is currently a faculty member there. David is residing at Philadelphia Metropolitan Area.

David Powlison earned his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania and his MDiv from Westminster Theological Seminary.

Powlison started out as an intern at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation in 1978 while still a student.

For decades, he had a regular counseling schedule but due to health problems, has instead started teaching and leading self-counseling programs for students.

David's other's responsibilities at CCEF are primarily teaching, writing, and editing the Journal of Biblical Counseling (JBC) as well as mentoring and interacting with students. Throughout the course of his career, David has served a variety of positions such as being on the board of directors of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC) for 20 years and founding the Biblical Counseling Coalition (BCC).

David is a prolific writer and has written numerous articles on biblical counseling as well as on the relationship between faith and psychology.

David is an adjunct professor at Westminster Theological Seminary and has taught across the United States and in Korea, India, Brazil, Europe, and Sri Lanka. David and his wife, Nan, have a son, two daughters, and one granddaughter. ^[1]
