Murder of Sunny Patel

On October 16, 2016, Perry was arrested in connection to the death of Sunny Patel.

[1]Patel, a 15 year old student, was working at his family's restaurant in Cleveland Heights, Ohio on October 14, 2016, when Perry walked in at about 8:00p.m.,

and shot him in the back of the head, fatally wounding him. Perry

then took a small amount of money from the register and fled. [7] [1]

Perry is being charged with Aggravated murder, two counts of felonious Assault, two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of Kidnapping.

Criminal History

A dozen criminal cases were filed against Daveion Perry between 2007 and 2012 in Cuyahoga County Justice Court.

Some were as minor as Jaywalking, others were as serious as Robbery, Assault and gun-related charges.

He was twice found guilty of theft charges as an 11-year-old.

A judge sentenced him in October 2012 as a 16-year-old to an Ohio Department of Youth Services facility until his 21st birthday.

He was released in May 2015.
