Danilo Gonzalez is an artist based out of Miami, Florida. [1]


Danilo Gonzalez was born in 1963, in the Dominican Republic where he began his life and education. Living in Paris, France, New York, NY, Caracas, and Mexico, before returning to the United States to establish with the West Branch Gallery & Sculpture Park, in Stowe, Vermont and then in Wynwood Miami, Florida. He has worked in many mediums over his 30 year career, including performance art, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and painting. He is in constant search for new techniques and ideas to integrate to his future body of work, focusing mainly in the industrial and recycling materials. His work has been awarded and honored in several biennials and art contests, and has been shown extensively across the United States, France, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Belgium, Cuba, Mexico, Colômbia, Canada, Ecuador, Italy, Japan, England, Morocco, Martinique, Guadalupe, Chile, Spain, amongst others. His work can be found in several private, government and corporate collections around the world, which includes the permanent collections of the Housatonic Museum of Connecticut, Musèe du Colombie in France, Museum of Modern Art in the Dominican Republic, el Centro Leon, Museo del Hombre Dominicano, Museo de Historia y Geografia, la Casa Consistorial de Santiago, el Centro de Arte de la Victoria in Venezuela, Museo Soto, and Museo del Dibujo, among others. Gonzalez has acquired a great amount of experience working with artists like Cruz Diez, Robert Blackburn, Mario Cruz, Susy de Pellerano Geo Ripley, Fernando Urena, Roberto Gonzalez, and others. He was selected to participate in the 'Ninety Sculptors of the Twentieth Century’ at the Housatonic Museum of Connecticut with such sculptors as Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore, and Isamu Noguchi. Danilo Gonzalez is an artist with international sensibility, who strives to create art work that addresses viewers across boundaries of culture and nations. His constant, responsible and creative search has made him one of the most influential painters in the Dominican Republic and one of the most active in the Wynwood Art community of Miami, Florida where he established The Art Place Wynwood and is dedicated to serving its community by leading in the presentation and promotion of contemporary visual arts.
