Daniel Mellers was a 21-year-old who lived in Newburg, Oregon. He is originally from Eaton, Colorado. ^[1]

Daniel grew up in Eaton and was homeschooled throughout his life, going through the Colorado Heritage Education School System.

A devout Christian, Daniel worked at Christ Community Church in Greely. ^[1]Daniel went on to attend George Fox University in Oregon where he was part of the William Penn Honors Program. ^[4]Daniel was heavily involved in Spiritual & Intercultural Life at his school. He is remembered for his strong faith and for his kindness towards others.

On the evening of Saturday, April 22nd, Daniel told his friends that he was going to go get some soda but he never returned.

A missing person report was filed Sunday and on Monday night, a resident of Sherwood spotted Daniel's car, a gray 2012 Toyota Corolla with Colorado license plates.

His body was found in the trunk of it.

Daniel's death has been ruled a suicide.
