Micah Johnson
Micah Xavier Johnson was a U.S. Army veteran and a resident of Mesquite, Texas. He is notorious for ambushed and fired upon a group of police officers in Dallas, Texas, killing five officers and injuring nine others.
He is also the first person to be killed by a police robot in the United States.
Early Life
Micah Johnson was born in Mississippi and raised in Mesquite, Texas. His parents divorced when he was four years old. According to a VA visit report on August 15, 2014, he described his childhood as "stressful"; further details were redacted.
Johnson attended John Horn High School; he transferred to the institution when he was 17 years old. While there, he participated in its Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program. He graduated in 2009 with a 1.98 grade-point average, despite the fact he failed some of his courses. Overall, he ranked 430th out of 453 students in his class.
In the spring of 2011, he enrolled in four classes at Richland College but never completed any of them.
Military Service
Micah Johnson was in the U.S. Army Reserve from March 2009 to April 2015. He served as a carpentry and masonry specialist. Johnson held the rank of private first class and served with an engineering brigade before being deployed to Afghanistan from November 2013 to July 2014. Johnson had no criminal record in Texas. [1]
He was sent home from Afghanistan after stealing women's panties.

2016 Dallas Police Protest Shooting
On July 7, 2016, Johnson ambushed and shot twelve police officers and two civilians in downtown Dallas, Texas, killing 5 police officers and wounding 7. He used an SKS assault rifle. Micah claimed he also had bombs planted in the area, but none have been found.
The shooting started at 9 p.m. after a protest of the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile near Main and Market streets and a block from the Old Red Courthouse building.
Micah was trapped near El Centro College in downtown Dallas.
After hours of negotiations, during which Micah said he wanted to kill more white police officers, he was killed by a robot carrying a bomb.
Micah told officers he was angry at the Black Lives Matter movement, killings of Black / African men, and wanted to kill White / Caucasian people, especially white police officers. [1]
Micah claims he was acting alone and is not affiliated with ISIS or any other groups.
Johnson does not have a previous criminal record.
Micah drove to the shooting area in a black SUV owned by his mother, Delphene Johnson.
Micah's Facebook page was replete with pan-African and "black power" symbolism. The Dallas cop-killer frequented black power events despite no official membership and was so committed to the cause that he wrote one group’s motto with his own blood.
