Dakota James was a 23 year old graduate student from Ohio. ^[1]

Life and Activities

Dakota James was a bright young individual attending grad school full-time.

He was openly homosexual.

Pam James, his mother, wrote “Dakota did not do this to himself.

He does not do drugs.

He does not smoke.

He works full-time and he attends grad school full-time.

He's a runner, biker and swimmer.

He drinks alcohol, but by no means was wasted like people think to of walked into the river.”

More than 70 people — family and friends of Mr. James, as well as a number of Pittsburghers — turned out for a candlelight vigil for the missing man Feb. 20 in Katz Plaza in the Cultural District.

Death

Authorities have not disclosed the official cause of death.

He was found in the Ohio river.

^[1] Police said that in the time since James’ disappearance there was no activity with his cellphone, which went to voicemail, or his bank account.

Dakota has been missing since January 25, 2017.
