In 2015, Dejerria was attacked by officer Eric Casebolt in the 2015 Texas pool party incident.

She was held down and violently assaulted by Casebolt while she was leaving a pool party.

Video of Casebolt tackling her went viral on the internet in 2015, creating a national uproar as viewers saw the white cop kneeling on the bikini-clad teen as her face was pressed into the grass.

In 2016, Becton sued Officer Casebolt in Federal Court for a Section 1983.

She claimed $5 million in damages.
