Early Life & Education

Cynthia Frelund is a native of Okemos, Michigan, and is a graduate of Okemos High School. From a young age, she has had a love of numbers and football. Growing up, her favorite Football player was NFL running back, Barry Sanders. [28]
In 2005, Cynthia Frelund graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She also graduated from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management with a Master of Business Administration in Finance, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. While at the Kellogg School of Management, Cynthia was the VP of the Marketing Club. Cynthia continued at Northwestern University and also graduated with a Master of Science in Predictive Analytics. Personal Life
Cynthia Frelund has run 20 marathons in 20 different states, almost halfway to her goal of running a Marathon in every state in the United States. Cynthia has taught pilates and group fitness classes at several gyms since 2001, an avocation that led to her first algorithm-based business, a recommendation engine for group fitness classes. [32]

In August 2016, Cynthia Frelund joined the NFL Network as an on-air predictive analytics expert becoming the network's first-ever analytics expert. Cynthia repeatedly appears on NFL Network shows including NFL GameDay Morning and NFL Fantasy Live, as well as the NFL Network's coverage of the Super Bowl, NFL Scouting Combine and NFL Draft. [32]
After the hiring of Cynthia Frelund, Michael Mandt, NFL Media's Executive Producer of Original Content said,
"Cynthia will break down complicated data and statistics, recognize patterns and trends, and then translate it in a way that is easy for fans to digest and understand.
She is a great addition and makes fans smarter, fantasy football owners better and does so in a way that no other football analyst does." [32]
As part of her job, Cynthia Frelund builds computer simulations using tools including Python, R, Tableau, Hive, and Pig. She runs around 10,000 simulations for each NFL game. [28]
