Cruz Velazquez Acevedo

Cruz Velazquez Acevedo

Cruz Velazquez Acevedo was a 16 year old who died trying to smuggle Methamphetamine from Mexico into the U.S. [undefined]

Personal Life

Cruz is of mexican descent.

He was a Drug Dealer.

Death

Acevedo was serving as a Drug mule in 2013 when police at the border thought two bottles of liquid he was carrying across the border seemed suspicious. The officers encouraged - or at least permitted - Acevedo to drink from the bottles, claiming it is just Apple juice.

However, Cruz was drinking 90% pure Methamphetamine with the appearance of a Yellow Fluid.

Acevedo then began convulsing and died.

His family sued the border guards and received a $1 million settlement.

Standard procedure required the border police to conduct a Field test rather than permitting Acevedo to drink from the bottle. [1]

Cruz had no prior criminal record.

His death was seen as a tragedy and some have tried to blame the border police for compelling him to drink the bottle.

Others blame Cruz for Imbibing such a large amount of meth when he more than likely knew the risks.
