Craig Alan Vandewege is a former employee of Costco who worked in Fort Worth, Texas. ^[1] He was married to Shanna Riddle Vandewege and had a 3-month-old named Diederik Vandewege. ^[1] He was arrested and charged with capital murder in Connection to deaths of his wife and son on December 22, 2016. ^[1]

On December 15, 2016, Craig reported to police that he came home and found his wife and son dead with their throats slits at their house in Fort Worth, Texas. ^[1] Their deaths were ruled as homicides. ^[1]

Fort Worth homicide detectives obtained a capital murder warrant on December 22, 2016 for Craig Alan Vandewege, hours after he was arrested in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, for allegedly speeding and failing to show proof of insurance. ^[1]

Police found two loaded pistols on Vandewege at the time of his arrest, one in a waistband holder and one in an ankle holster. ^[1] His car was also impounded. ^[1] Inside the vehicle, police located numerous boxes of different caliber ammunition, empty gas cans, camouflage clothing, numerous bottles of medication, an AR-15-style rifle and a .22 caliber revolver. ^[1]

His bail was set to $1,000,000. ^[1]
