Cornelius Adam Igbudu

Cornelius Adam Igbudu

Cornelius Adam Igbudu (born 1914) was the founding evangelist of the Anglican Adam Preaching Society. He is known as the "Isoko's greatest evangelist."[1][2]

Education & Early Life

In 1914, in Araya were he was born, a bible was said to have dropped from heaven on rain-soaked yams and yet the bible was not wet. He was born during that period. His father was Igbudu Etatimi and his mother - a fifth wife - was Ajeminemu.[1]

Although he wanted a formal education, Igbudu did not have that privilege for different reasons.

In those days most of the children sent to school were those who were considered too lazy to face the rigors of farm work or difficult manual labor.

They were sent to school in the belief that they would be toughened by the teacher’s cane.

Adam Igbudu was already considered strong, so he never needed such “ training.”

Evangelical work

Having no formal education, he was involved in fishing. He toured Isokoland and beyond, preaching about repentance and renunciation of idolatry.[2]

Death

Igbudu worked with the Anglican church where he continued his evangelistic activities until his death on 12 March 1981.
