She is the youngest to compete in the girls' singles event at the US Open.[1] She won the Junior Roland Garros (French Open) in 2018, the second-youngest athlete to do so; Martina Hingis was the youngest to do it at 12 years old.[4]
Gauff is also the youngest female ever to qualify for a Grand Slam main draw and the youngest player to ever qualify for the main draw at Wimbledon.
In the first round of the 2019 Wimbledon Championship Women's Singles she played Venus Williams, winning the match in straight sets.
