Cori Beard is a soccer coach at Vernon Hills High School.

Beard has been employed by Libertyville-Vernon Hills High School District 128 since 2013.

She currently serves as a part-time assistant soccer coach for both the boys and girls soccer teams at Vernon Hills High.

On Thursday March 8, 2018, Beard was arrested and charged charged with 12 counts of criminal sexual assault in relation to at least 12 sexual encounters with two male students.

The charges allege Beard was involved in unlawful sexual acts with the students between December 2016 and February2018.

^{[6] [5]}Police stated they do not believe the 12 acts occurred on school property.

Beard is in custody at the Lake County jail on $1 million bail.

She is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday March 13, 2018.
