History

CORE Nutrition was founded in 2015 by Lance Collins, a serial beverage industry entrepreneur, who previously created Fuze and NOS. He created CORE with a vision for innovative design and science. One of the company's earliest investors was Juicy J, who invested in the company in its first year, 2015. The company has also received investment from music industry celebrities including Katy Perry, Diplo, Max Martin, and Becky G. [1] [3]

CORE Nutrition is the maker of CORE Hydration premium bottled water and CORE Organic fruit infused beverages.

CORE Hydration is a premium bottled water that is perfectly balanced to work in harmony with the human body's natural pH. Through a unique process, CORE Hydration is ultra-purified and balanced with electrolytes and minerals to achieve the human body's "Perfect pH" of 7.4. The bottled water is available five different sizes of contoured bottles which are all 100% recyclable and BPA free. [1]In 2016, CORE Nutrition launched, CORE Organic, a line of fruit infused beverages organic, low calorie, and delicious beverage. In addition to being USDA Certified Organic with only 5 calories per serving, they are also low glycemic (with less than 1g of sugar per serving), gluten-free, non-GMO, Kosher, Soy-free, and vegan. Each serving of CORE Organic contains the same amount of antioxidants as a 1/2 cup serving of blackberries or cherries. [1]

Acquisition

In September 2018, Keurig Dr Pepper announced that they were acquiring CORE Nutrition for $525 million.

The acquisition was finalized in November 2018.

In the twelve months prior to the acquisition, CORE Nutrition made retail sales in excess of $200 million.

The company also raised $38.7 million from 46 investors in 2017 according to SEC filings. [4] [3] Juicy J one of the company's earliest investors celebrated the deal on Instagram writing, “The best investment i made in my life.”[7]
