Conway, whose real name is Demond Priceand used to go by Conway The Machine, is an American rapper from Buffalo, New York.

He is the blood brother of rapper Westside Gunn.

Conway started as a signee to his brother's label Griselda Records and a member of the group Griselda Gang, which includes his brother and Mach Hommy.

He was also a member of the duo Hall N’ Nash alongside his brother Westside Gunn.

Conway has a grizzled voice that can come out a bit mushy, this is because he was shot in the back of the head in 2013 and half his face was left paralyzed.

In 2017, Conway got scooped up by Eminem's label Shady Records.

Berfore signing a distribution deal with Shady Records, Conway was forging his own path, releasing music through SoundCloud with his brother.

By then, Conway had already worked with artists such as DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Alchemist, and Prodigy.

Conway was introduced to Prodigy of Mobb Deep by his friend TEK of Smith-N-Wessun: ^[3]

"When we was outside, just smoking a cigarette and shit, smoking a blunt, waiting to go onstage, Mobb Deep pulls up, and Tek is like, “Yeah, that’s P and them right there.”

After they park, a few minutes later, Prodigy hops out smoking a cigarette like, “Yo, yeah, I fuck with your shit.

Your shit fire.”

I didn’t really hear what he was saying.

I was in awe, on some starstruck shit, like, “Yo, that’s Prodigy.”

So, I didn’t really hear what he said … I’m like, “What you talking bout?” He was like, “Nah nigga, I’m talking bout your shit.

Nigga, like you’re fire, we gotta work.”

This was like the most unbelievable moment in my life at that point.

Prodigy?

I almost fainted.

I laugh about that shit all the time.

I ain’t even almost know what to say."

Conway later collaborated with Prodigy on the Hell Still On Earth EP.
