The main house of the colony used to be Constance ("Connie") Saltonstall's home.

The second building, dubbed the "Carriage House" was built in 1996 and has two full visual arts studios for painters, sculptors and any other artists.[2] The studioes have accopanying suites for artists to sleep.[2]

History

The Constance Staltonstall Foundation for the Arts was incorporated as a federally recognized tax-exept not-for-profit organization in 1995.[1]

The Foundation was created in the memory of Connie Saltonstall, who died in 1994 shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.[1]

Between 1996 and 2008, the Foundation provided $5,000 grants to individual artists and writers from central and western New York counties.[1] The grant programm was canceled due to the economic recession.[1]
