"It's Technically Legal" (2019)
Cole Hersch (born May 29, 1993) is an experienced American social media star and writer based out of Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his comedy sketches and pranks.[1][3]
Career
Smosh
Cole Hersch has worked as a writer and actor for the Smosh comedy channel founded by Alex Padilla and Ian Hecox. He has contributed to Smosh since 2017, working on popular sketches and episodes of shows like Every [Blank] Ever, If It Were Real, and Smosh Pit Weekly. Cole's first appearance on Smosh was in the skit "If People Acted Like They Do Online."[18]
Dance Showdown
Cole Hersch appeared on the show in a cut-off t-shirt that read "Back At It Again," pink rimmed sunglasses, and exercise pants. His signature dance move was the "Hello Father", a sassy wave and hip shake combo. He displayed comedic confidence, stating in a humorous fashion that he 'trusts his body' and that he'd win because he's 'cute as hell.'[42]
The first challenge on the show was for the contestants to use a prop in their choreography. Cole appeared with a giant inflatable ball that he mounted and bit in a ridiculous fashion. After disappointing the judges he still advanced to stage two, where he blew everyone away with the memorization challenge, where he had to perform a dance move he had learned earlier. Unfortunately it was during the third round of elimination that Cole was sent home, when he was paired with an actual professional dancer that Cole comedically insulted by saying that he felt he would have to carry the weight for both the professional dancer and himself, and referring to his partner's 'musk.'[35]
In August of 2019 Hersch would tweet about the experience, with footage from the show added highlighting the comedic elements of his performance and funny behind the scenes moments, like how the producers edited out an extra storyline Cole was trying to create in one-on-one interviews about being in love with his competition co-star Ashley.[43]
